Strange schedule. I hate not having a game on the weekend. I vote yes to going to a 2 defenseman lineup on the 2nd PP unit and inserting Sanheim onto the PP.

Gene Hart should be mandatory listening......could help some of these fools to actually learn the game

Bill - is there any update on Stolarz? Is he making any progress? I thought he looked pretty good in a small sample of starts last season? They could use him now, that’s for sure.

He's recovering from a knee injury, which he had surgery for.

Gene Hart was around before my time. But when I watch the classic games of him working the game I am blown away by how good he was and a bit saddened that I didnt experience his calls. He is fantastic

No, Patrick should not go to the Worlds and yes, Sanheim should be on the 2nd pp unit with Provorov, Patrick, Konecny and Raffl. Raffl may not be there all season, but right now he's red hot so why not get him out there?

Stolie is rehabbing the knee. Since he's had two of the same injury to the same knee -- and the second one happened off the ice doing normal day-to-day activities -- the Flyers are being very cautious about his timetable. He's not close to returning any time soon.

Frost has shown to be the best player on the best team in the OHL. Quite impressive and Canada will be missing an asset at the WJC.

Aube-Kubel is an interesting case. Any thoughts on the current prospect of his potential impact to the Flyers eventually? Bill? Wondering how far on the Organizational depth chart he is from a call up.

Hey Bill, what would you think of switching Ghost with Provorov on the PP units? That way you add some kind of flare to that second unit on the back end with a heavy shot to muster up some chances?

I think Patrick going to the WJC would be a good opportunity for a reset. He is struggling right now and his role and ice time is reflecting it.

Why not send him on a 2 week assignment where he can be a key cog on a perennial favourite and have some fun playing high stakes hockey?

the question is going to the WJC and dominating kids be better than him continuing to get acclimated to the pace of the NHL? my first thought was send him but then after thinking about it I think its better that he stays in the NHL

A lot of those kids are older than him. I don't think he would be absolutely dominant there. If he was, that's only a better for his confidence.

He's learning some hard lessons in the NHL right now which isn't a bad thing. But throw the kid a bone and hope he comes back inspired.

If a guy one the back half of the second round becomes an every day NHL player, I'll take it. Would be great if he was a top-6, but not all 2nd rounders will ever even play 1 NHL game.

I would doubt at the level he's at right now that he'd be dominating at the WJCs.

A two week break where he could get quality playing time and maybe reacquaint himself with his confidence couldn't be a bad thing.

Edit***Sorry Bax. Didn't mean to parrot your post. I didn't back read.

My two cents, I would not to that.

Offer me a penny for my thoughts ( I'm cheap) and I'd have to agree not to make the switch at this time.

Don't disagree but really would like to see a kid drafted mid 2nd round hit. His jump of play from year one to two is good to see. Honestly I can't really give a fair assessment of any of the Phantoms kids because I see maybe 3-4 games all season and all but one on tv. This year I'm going to LV on Jan 13th.

Just because Patrick isn't scoring, doesn't mean that his confidence is gone (although, I will admit, I don't know that it isn't). I think right now, he's navigating the NHL about as well as I thought he would. Sure, I would have liked a bit more points, but I thought 35 points would be about his cap this season.

My opinion is that it won't do his development any good to send him to the WJC, so I don't think they will do it. I think it's more important to have him playing against NHL competition.

He's going to be a very good player, just need to be a bit patient.
